Some useful objects refuse the neat categories. Lamps, radios and desk tools belong here when their purpose is clear and their construction continues to invite attention.

I apply the same standard as elsewhere: understandable parts, evidence of use, the possibility of repair and a reason to keep the object in everyday life.
